Lost & Found Property

Property will be retained by the Chatham-Kent Police Service for 90 days.

Bicycles will be retained for 30 days and if not claimed by rightful owner will be secured in storage to be sold at public auction that will be announced in the local media.

All other found property, not claimed by the rightful owner within 90 days, will not be returned to finder, with the exception of found money.

In the event that found money is not claimed by the rightful owner, the finder may apply in writing to the Chief of Police, Chatham-Kent Police Service, requesting the release of said money, prior to the stated 90 days retention.

This property will be held for an additional 14 days and if not claimed by the finder, will be disposed of accordingly.
