Races, Contests and Stunts

 

The following driving behaviours will lead to an automatic 7 day driver’s licence suspension and 7 day vehicle impound.

 

There is no set fine for these offences. Upon conviction, drivers are subject to a Minimum $2000.00 to Maximum $10,000.00 and/or 6 months imprisonment as well as 2 to 10 year licence suspension.


- Driving two or more vehicles at a high speed and over the speed limit and in a manner that indicates the drivers of the motor vehicles are engaged in a competition.

 

- Driving in a manner that indicates the intention to chase another vehicle.

 

- Driving carelessly and well over the speed limit

 

- Driving carelessly and well over the speed limit while outdistancing one or more vehicles

 

- Driving carelessly while repeatedly changing lanes in close proximity to other vehicles and advancing through the ordinary flow of traffic well over the speed limit

 

- Driving in a manner that lifts one or more tires from the road, including riding a motorcycle with only one tire in contact with the road (Wheelies & Endos)

 

- Driving in a manner that indicates and intention to loose traction while turning (Drifting)

 

- Driving in a manner that spins the vehicle or in a circle, without maintaining control (Doughnuts and spin-outs)

 

- Driving two or more vehicles, side by side, in close proximity, with one car in the oncoming lane, longer than is required to pass (Chicken, Drag Race)

 

- Driving with a person in the trunk (Trunking)

 

- Driving while the driver is not sitting in the driver’s seat (Ghost Driving)

 

- Driving more than 50 Km/h over the speed limit (50 Over)

 

- Driving carelessly while preventing another driver to pass

 

- Driving carelessly and cutting off another vehicle and braking or slowing down

 

- Driving carelessly and passing as close as possible to another vehicle, pedestrian or fixed object (Buzzing)

 

- Making a left turn from a red light, as soon as it turns green and before oncoming traffic can pass through the intersection

 

- Driving on a highway on a bet or a wager.

Obstructing or interfering with an officer investigating any of the above offences

No set fine.  Minimum $200.00 to Maximum $5,000.00 and/or Maximum 6 months in jail.
