The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 74 calls for service in the last 24 hours.
Eight people were arrested. Four people were held in custody during that period.
Youth Arrested for Assaulting his Mother
At 10:00 p.m. last night police received a 911 call from a woman on Beech Street in Bothwell. She reported that her 17-year-old son had assaulted her when he came home because he was upset that she didn’t leave him money for food. To avoid further confrontation, the woman went to her room but her son forced the door open, causing her to fall against a dresser. He walked into the room, grabbed her by the arm and threw her against the bed. She fled downstairs and called police. Her son fled the house in pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. He was located at another address in Bothwell and arrested.
A 17-year-old Bothwell youth has been charged with two counts of assault and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Tires Stolen
Sometime Saturday night, unknown suspect(s) attended the Maynard & Holmes Auto Body lot on Gillard Street in Wallaceburg and removed four tires from a vehicle valued at approximately $1500.

Man Arrested for Impaired Driving
At about 10:10 p.m. last night, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Ridge Line near Scane Road in Howard Township. The driver displayed signs of impairment, was arrested, and transported to police headquarters for breath testing.
Roderick Thor REYNOLDS (40) of Klondyke Road in Howard Township has been charged with impaired driving and having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his body. He was released with a future court date and his vehicle was towed from the road.
